#8 “the bus is yellow”
For me, it is impossible to see a school bus and not think about childhood. It was a Kansas City sunset, and the warm light hitting the faded yellow paint of this bus was magic. This photo was taken with the first roll of Kodak Ektar that I ever tried; the color, vibrancy and saturation made this photo one of the reasons I knew that shooting film provided the extra magic that I had wanted out of photography for so long. I have lost count of how many messages I receive about this photograph; I think it is because it captures the familiarity of something we know so well in a way that we have never seen it.
